In the classroom it is important for students to learn with a growth mindset. What is a growth mindset you may ask? A growth mindset is the belief that a person's abilities, intelligence, and skills can be developed through practice, persistence, active learning, and putting in effort to achieve. A fixed mindset is the opposite of a growth mindset. A fixed mindset is the belief that a person's abilities, intelligence and skills are permeant and can't be significantly changed. Throughout this year students will face challenges. Your initial reaction to the challenge faced will determine how it is solved. Will you put in effort to dig deeper and take time to understand, or will you think that you will never understand? Do some research and brainstorm in the comments how you can work on having a growth mindset towards assignments and lessons this year in class!
